Key elements of the role include:
- Overall management and leadership of the children’s residential home
- Acting as the Registered Manager with Ofsted, maintaining strong regulatory relationships
- Ensuring safeguarding, care planning and behaviour support are consistently embedded
- Leading and developing a stable, skilled staff team through effective supervision and training
- Promoting a calm, structured environment built on clear expectations and routine
- Managing budgets, resources and operational performance
- Participating in an on‑call rota to support the service
About You
Essential:
- Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People)
- Proven experience in a management or senior role within an LD children’s residential setting
- Strong working knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Confident safeguarding knowledge with a child‑centred approach
- Experience supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs
- A leadership style that promotes consistency, accountability and team stability
Desirable but not essential:
- Additional safeguarding qualifications
- Experience working closely with MDTs and external professionals
Why This Role?
- Senior salary band: £60k–£67k
- Genuine autonomy and influence over how the home operates
- Stable service with a long‑term vision for quality and growth
- Opportunity to create meaningful, lasting change for children and staff
