We’re recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home supporting young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
This is a key leadership role focused on creating a stable, safe and nurturing environment where children can feel secure, supported and able to thrive. You’ll provide calm, consistent leadership, embed strong safeguarding practice, and build long‑term stability for both children and staff.
This role would suit a confident LD residential manager with strong regulatory knowledge who is passionate about quality, compliance and positive outcomes.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the management of the home, ensuring high standards of care and full regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the Responsible Individual/Operations Director and external professionals to ensure the service delivers outstanding, child‑centred care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall leadership, management and development of the children’s home
- Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Maintaining productive relationships with Ofsted and other regulators
- Leading, supporting and developing a stable and motivated staff team
- Oversight of care planning, safeguarding and positive behaviour support
- Managing the home’s budget and resources effectively
- Driving a positive culture focused on children’s welfare, staff retention and continuous improvement
- Participating in an on‑call rota to support the service as required
About You
Essential requirements:
- Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in a management or supervisory role within an LD residential children’s service
- Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Solid understanding of safeguarding, child protection and care planning
- Experience supporting children with learning disabilities (e.g. Autism, Down’s Syndrome, complex needs)
- Confident leadership style with the ability to build stability, accountability and trust
Desirable:
- Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) Level 3
- Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams
