We’re recruiting on behalf of a specialist children’s residential provider to appoint an experienced Registered Manager for a 3-bed Learning Disability (LD) Children’s Home in Retford.
This is a pivotal leadership role focused on standards, stability and safeguarding. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring children receive consistent, high-quality care and the team operate with confidence, clarity and accountability.

The Opportunity
You’ll lead the service with full operational responsibility, supported by an established senior leadership team. Your priorities will include Ofsted compliance, team development, safeguarding excellence, and a culture that delivers the best outcomes for children.
Key elements of the role include:
- Full leadership and operational management of the 3-bed LD home
- Acting as the Registered Manager with Ofsted
- Embedding strong practice across safeguarding, care plans, behaviour support and routines
- Developing a stable team through supervision, training and consistent expectations
- Managing resources, budgets and operational performance
- Maintaining high standards aligned to Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Taking part in an on-call rota
About You
Essential requirements:
- Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Children and Young People) (or equivalent)
- Minimum one year in a managerial/supervisory role within an LD residential service
- At least 2 years’ experience (within the last 5 years) working with children
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Strong knowledge of LD needs including Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome
- Confident, child-centred safeguarding approach and consistent leadership style
Desirable (not essential):
- Additional safeguarding qualifications
- Experience collaborating with MDTs/external professionals
