We’re working in partnership with a specialist children’s residential provider to appoint an experienced Registered Manager for a small, 3-bed Learning Disability (LD) Children’s Home in Macclesfield.
This role sits at the heart of the service. You’ll take full operational responsibility for the home, setting clear standards, embedding consistent practice, and ensuring children experience stability, safety and high-quality care every day.
It’s an ideal opportunity for a confident LD residential manager who values strong systems, safeguarding excellence and long-term outcomes - not short-term fixes.
The Opportunity
You’ll have genuine ownership of the service, leading from the front while being supported by a structured senior leadership team. Your focus will be quality, compliance and culture — ensuring the home runs in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, while developing a capable, confident staff team.
Key elements of the role include:
- Overall management and leadership of the 3-bed LD children’s residential home
- Acting as the Registered Manager with Ofsted, maintaining strong regulatory relationships
- Embedding high standards across safeguarding, care planning and behaviour support
- Recruiting, leading and developing a stable staff team through supervision, coaching and training
- Promoting a calm, structured environment built on routine, consistency and clear expectations
- Managing budgets, resources and operational performance
- Participating in an on-call rota to support the service
About You
Essential requirements:
- Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Children and Young People) (or equivalent)
- Minimum one year in a managerial or supervisory role within an LD residential service
- At least 2 years’ experience (within the last 5 years) working with children
- In-depth knowledge of Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Strong knowledge of learning disabilities such as Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome
- A leadership style that promotes consistency, accountability, and team stability
Desirable (not essential):
- Additional safeguarding qualifications
- Experience working closely with MDTs and external professionals
Why This Role?
- Opportunity to lead a small home where strong leadership genuinely shapes outcomes
- A service focused on stability, safeguarding and quality (not constant firefighting)
- Real scope to embed culture, develop people and drive lasting improvement
- A role where leadership is valued — and consistency is the standard
If you’re an experienced Registered Manager looking for a role where quality, stability and leadership truly matter, we’d love to hear from you.
