The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to step into a Night Site Coordinator role within a specialist inpatient mental health service. This is a senior night‑duty position, providing overall site leadership overnight, supporting clinical decision‑making, staff supervision, patient safety and operational continuity.
This role is ideal for an RMN with strong leadership skills who is confident managing a site autonomously out of hours, while knowing when to escalate and seek on‑call support.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall management and coordination of the site during night shifts
- Monitoring and triaging referrals received overnight
- Managing, resolving and escalating incidents appropriately, including knowing when to involve on‑call support
- Providing visible leadership to nursing teams across the site
- Leading on patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation
- Delivering and embedding evidence‑based nursing practice
- Supporting medicines management and safe administration
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting junior staff
- Maintaining patient safety, staff wellbeing, and environmental health & safety
- Ensuring clinical documentation, records and information are managed in line with GDPR requirements
- Actively participating in MDT working and communication
- Supporting service quality, continuous improvement and effective use of resources
- Maintaining compliance with professional standards, policies and procedures
- Keeping up to date with mandatory training and personal professional development
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration
- Minimum 3 years post‑registration experience
- Relevant inpatient mental health clinical experience
- Proven ability to lead, prioritise and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong organisational, leadership and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT literacy and confidence using clinical systems
- Sound understanding of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
- A positive, flexible and improvement‑focused approach
- Commitment to continued professional development and high‑quality patient care

- This role requires a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times, in line with the NMC Code
- Occasional relocation within the UK may be required with appropriate notice
