This Registered Manager role is ideal for a children’s residential care leader who wants clear accountability, a stable service environment, and the chance to make an immediate difference for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. You’ll be trusted to lead the home, keep standards clear, and make sure safeguarding and care quality are strong from day one.

Why This Role

This role offers autonomy and accountability, exposure to a children’s residential LD service, and the opportunity to lead a home where safeguarding, care planning, and staff support need clear leadership. Unlike similar roles, this position focuses on steady, values-led management rather than crisis-led change.

The Role: Registered Manager

In this role, you will spend most of your time leading the day-to-day running of the home, supporting staff, and keeping the service aligned with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, safeguarding expectations, and care plans. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, staff teams, external professionals, and regulators, with clear expectations from day one.

· Lead the home day to day, including staffing, routines, resources, and safe practice.

· Maintain regulatory compliance, safeguarding standards, and accurate statutory reporting.

· Support care planning with external multidisciplinary teams, including PBS plans, risk assessments, and reviews.

· Provide clear leadership, supervision, and guidance to staff, including participation in on-call arrangements.

· Build effective working relationships with regulators, commissioners, families, and internal teams.

What You’ll Bring

· Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People), or equivalent.

· At least one year in a managerial or supervisory role within an LD children’s residential service.

· Two years’ experience within the last five years working with children.

· Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, safeguarding, and child protection.

· Experience leading care for children and young people with learning disabilities such as Autism, Down’s Syndrome, or Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Benefits & Environment

This role offers permanent employment, a salary of £50,000 - £57,250, funded professional qualifications, wellbeing support, dental and optical cover, reward and discount schemes, annual leave, pension contributions, and performance-related recognition within a children’s residential environment focused on safeguarding, stability, and child-centred care.
